ABOUT US

Mulranny Arts hosts a diverse range of classes from fine art for the Essence of Mulranny international retreat workshops run by Lora Murphy, to various craft techniques taught by local artists. Music, Irish Language and Storytelling are ongoing events. It is a place where artists share their skills in specialised studios to both beginner and advanced students and the unique refurbished oratory provides a beautiful space for a variety of entertainments and gatherings.

The building, the old Mulranny Convent, was built initially around 1904. Built as a priest's house, the nuns took over in 1934 and were there for the next 50 years.

In 2021 it was purchased by the Brownes of Mulranny, restored and converted to an Arts and Culture Centre.  Pádraig Browne remembers visiting the convent when he was a child attending the local school when nuns hosted First Communion breakfasts.  He and his wife Cheryl, in recognition of its local cultural and historic role are pleased to open it to the community with the mission to provide a place where:
