Class Description
Have you taken a kiln glass (aka fused glass) jewellery course, either here at Mulranny or somewhere else? Would you like to take your creations to the next level? Then this weekend workshop is for you
This course is designed to build upon your basic kiln glass jewellery skills. Practice your technique and improve your work through thoughtful design, coldworking methods and multiple firings to create one of a kind glass jewels. Learn how to plan your work for more complex jewellery findings, and complete your pieces into pendants, earrings and pins by drilling holes, adhering findings and wire wrapping. Demystifying kiln programs and discussing home studio setups will be discussed.
Who is this class for?
This class is ideal for people who have taken a previous kiln glass jewellery class, as we will jump right into working and not spend time rehashing the basics.
What's the class like?
After introductions of people to the studio, the course will begin with designing and crafting new glass cabochons to fit within specific parameters. Marja will guide you through the process with discussions and demonstrations each day. You will learn cold-working techniques of grinding, drilling and engraving, and advanced kiln-forming techniques including inclusions, kiln-carving, and understanding kiln programming to create the results you wish to achieve.
